TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR WALKING
Clare’s Pet Care offers a dog-walking service to you on the following terms. References to ‘dog’ are to the customer’s dog.
TERMS OF AGREEMENT
- Clare’s Pet Care will not confirm any booking until a consultation has been carried out with the client and the contract, with full details of clients requirements, has been signed by the client.
- Clare’s Pet Care will collect and walk the dog for an hour, on the agreed days from the customer’s address, unless advised otherwise.
- Clare’s Pet Care reserves the right to walk other dogs at the same time, but the total number of dogs walked with one person at one time will not exceed 4.
- The dog should be up-to-date with all vaccinations and also have been treated regularly for worms and fleas. Please inform Clare’s Pet Care if your dog has any health conditions, behavioural problems or dislikes on the initial consultation.
- Clare’s Pet Care will not be held liable for any pre-existing conditions or other health issues found on a dog in our care. Any health conditions should be checked and verified by a qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
- The client must provide Clare’s Pet Care with the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the dog(s) in an emergency. If the contact is not available Clare’s Pet Care reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and then make a decision which is in the best interests of the animal.
- The client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst dogs are in the care of Clare’s Pet Care.
- All mature male dogs should be neutered. Bitches will not be walked if they are in season. If these conditions are not met, Clare’s Pet Care will not be responsible for any consequences arising.
- All dogs being walked will undergo a paid trial period to ensure that they are adequately trained and socialised. Clare’s Pet Care reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time and with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker or other dogs.
- All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless prior written agreement has been reached with Clare’s Pet Care and a disclaimer has been signed by the client. Once the disclaimer has been signed we will only walk your dog off lead if we feel we have good recall.
- Clare’s Pet Care reserves the right to cut short a walk if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat, thunderstorms, snowstorms) for the safety of both the dog(s) and walker. Full payment of the walk will still be charged. If the dog requires towelling off after walks, towels must be provided by the client.
- The client is responsible for making sure the collar/harness/muzzle provided for their dog is secure and tight enough to prevent the dog escaping. It is a legal requirement for the dog to be micro-chipped and we would ask that the dog wears a tag with the owner’s name and contact details on it.
- The client agrees to provide keys/arrange access to the dog for the agreed appointment; failure to do so will result in a cancellation for that day’s service but Clare’s Pet Care will still be paid in full by the client.
- The client agrees that, by signing the key holder waiver form this will indemnify Clare’s Pet Care in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to the property or its contents, in present and future circumstances.
- Access to your property must be straight forward i.e. keys should open doors easily or gates should be easy to open. If I am unable to gain access into your property, after making every reasonable effort, you will still be charged for the walk.
- Where a dog flap is fitted, it is the owner’s sole responsibility to ensure that the garden and its fences are secure. It is not Clare’s Pet Care responsibility to check this before leaving your dog following a walk.
- Clare’s Pet Care will inform the Customer of any incident or anything which Clare’s Pet Care notices about the dog, which as dog owners the Customer ought to know.
- Although Clare’s Pet Care holds Public Liability insurance, wherever possible dogs should be insured by the client. Clare’s Pet Care reserves the right to refuse a booking for a dog which is not insured.
- Clare’s Pet Care will care for your animal as you would, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, Clare’s Pet Care cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a dog either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.
- Clare’s Pet Care will supply a plastic bag and use it on all walks to remove the dog’s faeces and ensure that dog does not foul any public or private place.
- The Customer will provide Clare’s Pet Care with contact details of its vet. In case of need Clare’s Pet Care is authorised to refer the dog to the named (or in emergency any other) vet for advice or treatment at the Customer’s expense. The Customer undertakes to reimburse to Clare’s Pet Care all expenses incurred under this clause.
- Receipt for all cash payments will be given upon request.
- Any cancellations must be made more than 24 hours in advance or the full rate will be charged.
- I will try to give 24hrs notice if I cannot walk your dog due to illness or injury to myself.
- Clare’s Pet Care reserves the right to deny or terminate service because of safety or financial concerns.
- Proof of CRB check (now called Disclosure and Barring) and Insurance can be provided on request.
